Here we are packing up the canoes for day three on the river. Note the light levels between all these photos and how it never really changes.
I had my camera in this specially bought water proof camera bag. Although the bag wore out by the end of the trip, it actually did an excellent job of keeping the camera dry. However, this all kind of proved irrelevant as the camera was near impossible to operate through the bag and when I was able to take photos, the camera bag lens cover often itself had water on the outside.
Stopped for lunch on a small island.
Rocks and silt. Which reminds me… the river was so silty it made it virtually impossible to filter water out of it. We spent the entire trip using our water very sparingly as we always needed to find smaller tributaries to filter from.
Later in the day the weather really broke and we saw our first other person since the trip started.
