Wrangell St Elias National Park Canoe Trip Day 4

24 hours after trauma of almost be killed by the river, I some how find myself on it again.

Though it may not look it in this photo, we’re moving at a very good clip and getting bounced around quite a bit.

Weather was still holding… tonight’s camp was a particularly nice site.

Landslide

Note the side of that landslide. Later in the trip while in a canyon with very steep and unstable sides we watched to our terrified eyes part of the walls begin to fall very close to us. One could only imagine the size of the wave that this amount of rubble would cause. Luckily for us… our landslide did turn out to just be a few rocks..
